– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – x-no-archive:yes About two years ago, I had a bad experience after taking viagra. I thought I was going to die. Flush face rapid heartbeat. Face was on fire and red. After that anytime I would take a pill, even a baby asprin, my heart would start beating fast and I would not feel right. It has gootn better since then but once in awhile, it seems to come back. I have taken antibiotics usually without problem. However yesterday before a 30 minute run I took one benadyril. I ran with no problems. As soon as I got back inside, I started not feeling "quite right". Not as bad as last year but it seems my body is hyper sensitive and if I take something that causes changes, this happens. How can I combat this? The thing is, I want to try some more errectile aids but am afraid I will freak out after taking them. Actually mainly more for the treatment of PE than ED but that is another story.
Hi Stryped. This is my amateur diagnosis You took the Viagra two years ago. It caused some minor and harmless changes in your body (as many meds do). For whatever reason this gave you a fright. The fright caused you to have a bad panic attack. Rapid heartbeat and flushed face are classic panic symptoms – the viagra could have made these feel a bit worse though. Now you associate pills with that fear in your mind and every time you take any pill you start to panic. You have developed a good old traditional phobia! I would recommend seeing a therapist if you can, but if you can’t then I like your idea to desensitise yourself by taking a harmless pill every day for a while. Maybe an aspirin once a day for a couple of weeks or something? Once you teach yourself that pills are not harmful again the fear will subside and the panic symptoms will stop. In the meantime, don’t forget that panic symptoms (racing heart flushes, palpitations etc) are totally safe and harmless. They are just a natural function of the body when it is afraid. They feel nasty but no one EVER died from them – not ever! — _TJ_ <TJ_IREL at YAHOO dot IE — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

Question:

Saddam’s WMD: Discovery and Denial "Now that our units in Iraq have discovered the smoking gun that the left has seemingly wanted for the past three years, they have shifted the goalposts again. And one more time, the facts of Saddam’s WMD must be presented to the American people to counter the lies of the media, and regrettably, some people in our own government agencies. The left and their allies in the press are apparently too dense to understand the significance of the Coalition previously finding biological agent seed cultures, several hundred tons of purified nuclear material, and tons of chemical weapon (CW) precursors. But this entire controversy has never been about the weapons themselves, the age of the munitions, or the media promoted fantasy of pallets of chemical rounds ready to be loaded into Iraqi artillery pieces. From the beginning it has been about the campaign of disinformation and deception of the antique media and the shadow government within our intelligence agencies to discredit the administration in a time of war. The Sec. State and Pre-war Intelligence A typical response to the NGIC report on these chemical weapons is found in a piece by Dafna Linzer in the Washington Post. After briefly covering Santorum’s and Hoekstra’s news conference, Linzer quotes the proverbial unnamed "intelligence officials" who said that these, .shells were old and were not the suspected weapons of mass destruction sought in Iraq after the 2003 invasion. This is a false statement and in fact, directly contradicts publicly divulged US and European pre-war intelligence estimates as stated by both the President in his 2003 State of the Union address, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s speech before the UN a little over a week later. According to the US and the UN, the age of the weapons was immaterial. The primary issue has always been one of accountability. The weapons and banned material either had to have been verified as destroyed or be made available for inspection and inventory by UN agencies. Since Saddam actively resisted the inspectors, and then later kicked them out of Iraq, Powell was obligated to present to the UN key intelligence assessments about the unknown status of Iraq’s chemical weapons: . Saddam Hussein has never accounted for vast amounts of chemical weaponry: 550 artillery shells with mustard, 30,000 empty munitions and enough precursors to increase his stockpile to as much as 500 tons of chemical agents. [Emphasis mine] . If we consider just one category of missing weaponry-6,500 bombs from the Iran-Iraq war-UNMOVIC says the amount of chemical agent in them would be in the order of 1,000 tons . We know that Iraq has embedded key portions of its illicit chemical weapons infrastructure within its legitimate civilian industry. [Emphasis mine] Illicit and legitimate production can go on simultaneously; or, on a dime, this dual-use infrastructure can turn from clandestine to commercial and then back again. Because of the NGIC report, we now know that Powell’s number of 550 unaccounted for CW rounds was amazingly accurate. Coupled with previous reporting on precursors and on accounts provided by Ken Timmerman, who could now logically contradict Powell’s pre-war intelligence on CW? Ironically, the people who most regret the information provided during the speech are Powell himself and his former military aide. Somebody had better give them a call and tell them that at least on the CW intelligence portion of his speech, Powell was right. Coalition Forces and Chemical Weapons What is surprising in the wake of the report is that the military leadership seems to have joined the "nothing to see here" crowd, even though it has been Army and Marine units in Iraq that have done the heavy lifting in uncovering Saddam’s CW. Almost from the very start of Operation Iraqi Freedom Coalition troops discovered CW precursors co-located with military ordnance yards or in ammo dumps. These finds included huge warehouses and caches of "commercial and agricultural" chemicals, including 55 gallon drums buried in bunkers six feet underground. Notably, this is another instance where the former Sec. State’s assessment has been proven true. Tests performed on these substances by chemical warfare specialists produced positive results for sarin, cyclo-sarin, and mustard agents. But later, the ISG pronounced all of the military’s tests as flawed, and the CW uncovered as inconsequential. Meanwhile, the media and the ISG focused on the technical minutiae of Powell’s data on mobile bio-war labs to divert attention from the significance of our troops’ discoveries. As the NGIC report shows, units continued to turn up large amounts of chemical munitions whose potency could last for well over 20 years. Yet, in response to the potential force protection problems should these rounds ever be used against our troops, the Coalition command in Iraq has seemingly adopted the ISG’s tactics of minimization and disinformation. Major William Willhoite, a spokesman for Multi-National Forces-Iraq (MNF-I) stated No old chemical weapons have yet been rigged to improvised explosive devices used by Iraq’s insurgents. "We have never had an IED utilizing anything but conventional munitions," The good Major is either not very well read or he has completely ignored open source civilian and military accounts of our forces’ encounters with WMD since the end of major combat operations: . In May of 2004, elements of the 1st Cavalry Division encountered a 155mm binary chemical artillery shell wired as an IED http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120268,00.html . The round exploded before it could be rendered safe exposing two US soldiers to the deadly nerve agent, who then displayed the classic symptoms of sarin exposure: dilated pupils and nausea. Later tests confirmed that the shell contained three to four liters of sarin. . On May 2, 2004, a 155mm shell filled with mustard agent was discovered; this one also rigged as an IED. In keeping with the tradition of dismissing Coalition forces recovering WMDs, ISG testing concluded that the mustard gas was "stored improperly" and was thus "ineffective." . Later in May, the 1st Cavalry Division again discovered CW when Troop D, 9th Cavalry Regiment seized over forty 155mm artillery rounds suspected of containing a chemical warfare agent because they were leaking an unknown substance. . And finally last August, US troops raided a warehouse in Mosul and discovered a chemical weapons factory containing 1,500 gallons of 11 different chemical agent precursors. A military spokesman said that the facility was a new one that was established after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. And before all of these incidents, in January of 2004, Danish forces in Southern Iraq discovered 120mm mortar shells with a mysterious liquid inside that initially tested positive for blister agents. Further tests by the ISG were, of course, negative. In many ways, the effort to publicize declassified portions of the NGIC report is similar to the Weekly Standard’s fight with the DIA to release tens of thousands of unclassified documents seized after OIF. But as Santorum and Hoekstra point out (sign-in required), this episode of obstructing the requests of our lawmakers occurred because elements within our own intelligence community deliberately abused their classification authority to withhold open source information about discoveries of Saddam’s chemical weapons. Keep in mind that there is a lot more material left to be "declassified." http://www.americanthinker.com/articles.php?article_id=5622 I am off to Judge at a Dance Event at the fabulous Camelback Resort is Scottsdale Arizona, see you all next week!

Blah, blah, blah. Even Sontorum & Hoekstra said this find wasn’t the smoking gun. This whole article is stupid because both the ISG & Deufler said that we would find some WMDs like we found. And there weren’t any lies by the media or the left, i.e., it was David Kay & Deufler that said that there were no WMDs. Iraq Survey Group’s (ISG) Head Charles Duelfer appeared on the June 22 broadcast of National Public Radio’s Talk of the Nation, where he stated that these munitions are not weapons of mass destruction: NEAL CONAN (host): The report says hundreds of WMDs were found in Iraq. Does this change any of the findings in your report? DUELFER: No, the report — the findings of the report were basically to describe the relationship of the regime with weapons of mass destruction generally. You know, at two different times, Saddam elected to have and then not to have weapons of mass destruction. We found, when we were investigating, some residual chemical munitions. And we said in the report that such chemical munitions would probably still be found. But the ones which have been found are left over from the Iran-Iraq War. They are all almost 20 years old, and they are in a decayed fashion. It is very interesting that there are so many that were unaccounted for, but they do not constitute a weapon of mass destruction, although they could be a local hazard. CONAN: Mm-hmm. So these — were these the weapons of mass destruction that the Bush administration said it was going into Iraq to find before the war? DUELFER: No, these do not indicate an ongoing weapons of mass destruction program as had been thought to exist before the war. These are leftover rounds, which Iraq probably did not even know that it had. Certainly, the leadership was unaware of their existence, because they made very clear that they had gotten rid of their programs as a prelude to getting out of sanctions. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5504298

courageously avow: Blah, blah, blah. Wheaton – does this article reflect your views on this matter. If so, it confirms that you are indeed a right-wacko. Mr Soul

Hey, not fair. A right-wacko with libertarian tendencies. Or so he would have us believe. — Ken Wilson

courageously avow: PS – Wheaton forgot to mark this thread OT. Surprise, surprise. He says he wants these post to stop but yet he keeps making them himself. Mr Soul

Probably so excited about starting his own thread he was too busy pissing himself to remember to OT it. — Ken Wilson

courageously avow: Get over it John. The weapons we went in for were not there. Right-winger’s dreams die hard…

They only wish they could get hard, which would explain Rush’s need for Viagra. I guess the pain of not being able to actually had him using OxyContin ’til he got caught. — Ken Wilson

Response:

Get over it John. The weapons we went in for were not there.

That’s correct. I’ve just finished reading through some of the testimony (Tuesday’s House Hearings) of Dr. David Kay. What was really found, are a bunch of old, decaying and rather dangerous chemical weapons. We knew we’d find those, *regardless* of our big time search for WMD’s. But, these were in NO WAY part of a big "find" of WMD’s. Not even close. If the Iraqis would have tried to use some of these, it likely would have killed *them*, rather than *us.* And what about that claim that they’ve used some chemical weapons as "IED’s?" The worst part of those old weapons, is that the Iraqi Army didn’t mark their chemical weapons, as such. As a result, they were mixed in with munitions, all over the country. It wasn’t *meant* to happen, but it did in the confusion of war. So…..some insurgent gets hold of an old round, assumes it will simply explode…..but…. What we’re all seeing, is the Republican spin machine in "high gear", in an attempt to save some sort of reputation in time for the coming elections. That is *all* that it is. Mike

Response:

And what about that claim that they’ve used some chemical weapons as "IED’s?" The worst part of those old weapons, is that the Iraqi Army didn’t mark their chemical weapons, as such. As a result, they were mixed in with munitions, all over the country. It wasn’t *meant* to happen, but it did in the confusion of war.

The only Iraqi chemical shells to be clearly marked apparently were mustard gas shells (with a green band). There were also tags on shipping crates but those were easily lost or ignored by those who didn’t know what to look for. The reason for this is normally those munitions were only let out of the barn when accompanied by specially trained troops who didn’t need to be told what was inside the shells. That system broke down under coalition air attack in the first gulf war and the recent invasion, thus assorted aging chemical munitions being scattered around the country. Or at least that’s what the CIA reported. . . . So…..some insurgent gets hold of an old round, assumes it will simply explode…..but….

There have been one or two occasions when such munitions were used in IEDs, with no fatal results. What we’re all seeing, is the Republican spin machine in "high gear", in an attempt to save some sort of reputation in time for the coming elections.

There is plenty of spin from both sides, but the claim that 500 rusty old shells is sufficient proof of Saddam having WMD is an especially feeble example of trying to re-write history.

I checked out your blog, what there is of it so far. I rather enjoyed it. Like this quote: "Should we really be so worried? I mean, what’s the risk here? Aside from having a generation of people who want to study really hard, I don’t think there is much." So here is my story about Adderal. Our younger daughter, now ten, started taking it about two and a half years ago. She went from being a kid who had constant struggles with teachers and difficulty with peers, who was in trouble and frustrated and unhappy, to a kid who is still a handful and a half, but now has friends, makes adults laugh, and can be reasoned out of her blind alleys of stubbornness. She relaxed. She smiled more. It really was a minor miracle. Thanks for helping me remember what a good thing it was. :-)

It gave me a headache. Why just Adderall? Does it have a worse rep than Ritalin? –Patti

Response:

Well I am 42 and I was on it for about 1.5 years until about 6 months ago. In my youth I was an avergae teen/ 20 year old ( I was not diagnosed with ADHD until I was 39.5). I had experimented with some drugs including pot, cocaine, and blotter. I have never been an abusive type, meaning I always knew when to say when and when to say no thanks. I am saying this because when I first got on Adderall it felt in many ways like cocaine was for me. Let me qualify that with this. Cocaine was good for me in that I could focus and had the energy I needed to do the things I wanted, I could also fall asleep on it so it was a nice thing for me. In my first week or two on Adderall a lot of feelings came back to me that I had not had for years. I felt like a kid again, I really wanted to do the things I had been missing, excercise, riding a bike, playing my guitar for four hours at a time. There were a couple of times that I felt like partying and that was an eye opener for me. That is when I recognized the feelings I was having and I decided I needed to keep this in my strict awareness so I knew I was not going to abuse it. I never abused it while I was on it. I would still be using it if I could take Welbutrin with it. Not sure why I can’t but that is what the doctor said so… I was on Prozac with Adderall and I was having erection issues with the Prozac. While there are things like Viagra I knew my issue was the Prozac so why compound it with another? I switched to Straterra when I saw the commercials and I knew I could get on Welbutrin with that. There was about a two week point when I was not on anything so the meds could metabolize completely before starting the new meds. Straterra is nice for focusing like studying but there is no stimulant factor and you get tired easily. So I haven’t determined what to do about the energy level yet. I don’t drink coffee or take any socialization drugs. I have heard about using St John Wart or Ginko tea but I haven’t tried that yet. I hope this is good for your reports. Remember I only switched due to another indirectly related decision. Otherwise I would still be using it.

Sorry to just jump in the middle of a post here. I just subscribed to ASAP and my reader didn’t download the the previous messages. My reply is to Andy. Andy, Most of the SSRI’s SNRI’s will have some sexual side effects. If Effexor XR is working well for you, I would suggest you do not switch! Medications to help what we have is all trial an error (and it can be many months or years to find the right combination that works for each of us). When you find one that really works, it is like gold! I had sexual side effects from Zoloft. I just had no sex drive while I was on it and it never worked that well for me, though it did make things much better. I then went to Lexapro 1 1/2 years ago and it was what I now call my "fools gold". I was pretty much NORMAL for 1 1/2 years to only have the rug stripped out from me about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago. I am now is "crisis mode" with my anxiety/panic and I should be starting Effexor XR tomorrow or Thrusday and hope it helps me (it has helped my father for the last 5 years!). You could try other options for the sexual side effects. Talk to your doctor about them. They could try you on a very small amount of Viagra. That may be just what it takes to get the engine running again. You could also try more stimulating things with your parter. Maybe watch an adult video, toys, a lot of "petting", whatever. Once I do find the medication that is right from me, you won’t be able to pry it from my cold dead fingers , not even Bill Gates wealth would take it from me. I am really happy for you that Effexor XR is working so well for you. Now that you have the anxiety/panic/depression part of your life under control, take a slow and gradual approach to finding ways to make your sex life with your partner better! Hey, at least you know you will have a lot of fun testing out new things!
Response:

Different meds work differently for different people. Technically paxil is fairly different from effexor, but it really depends what part of effexor is helping you. The only way to know is to try it, and go back to effexor if paxil doesnt work. Now you may want to ask your doctor about trying something other than paxil, since paxil is one of the hardest meds to withdrawl from… Other than that, unfortunatly, there are no easy answer to your question… Only other quick thing that comes to mind is that if it is available, you could use fome levitra or viagra when necessary with your effexor, and then you can leave your effexor alone… One other thing, Perhaps you could reduce your effexor by 37.5 mg, using on of the started pills with a 75mg pill if that is available as an option to you… You have several options to talk with your doc about… jamie

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi All, I Have been on effexor for about a year now (uk xl version 150ml/day dose long release) Ii have found it to really help and have only experienced 1 side effect throughout which is occasional impotence. Although i have a very understanding partner, it has been a problem , i sought help from my doc last week and she suggested changing to 20mg paxil/day after i ween off the effexor. I am a bit scared about coming off the effexor as it has really helped my bad anxiety and slight anxiety related-brought on depression. I feel as if i am stuck between a rock and a hard place now. Will the paxil provide the similar sort of help that effexor has. And will it lack the side effect of impotence that effexor has unfortunately brought me. Any help or advise for a scottish newbie to this great group would/will fall on very appreciative ears. Thankyou, Andy.

I think it’s bad advice. Of all tyhe antidepressants around Paxil has the worst reputation regarding sexual dysfunction… If Effexor works for you maybe you’d better stay on it (a med that works is a thing to cherish). There are a few other possibilities that can be discussed with your (p?)doc: – adding low dose Wellbutrin, a *stimulating* antidepressant. This may do the trick. The snag is that many anxiety sufferers don’t do well on Wellbutrin because its stimulating qualities exacerbate their anxiety (although this is not always the case). Hopefully in a combo with Effexor this will not be the case for you. One could think about throwing in a benzo for good measure but a/you van;t go on adding meds to treat side effects of others meds and b/if Scotland is anything like England you won’t be able to lay your hands on benzos anyway. – adding *Gingko Biloba*, a herb (don’t do this without consulting the doc) – adding low dose Buspar seems to help sometimes too. Buspar is next to useless as an anxiolytic but I’ve read about it sometimes hekping with SSRIO induced sexual dysfunction. – taking the occasional *drug holiday* which means: don’t take your Effexor on a certain day (consult the doc first) and then you may be very well able to have sex. This may seem unspontaneous and it is, but *if it works, it works* and it often does, as it seems. The obvious snag here is the possibility of Effexor withdrawal symptoms but it can be tried, see what it gets you – the proof is in the pudding. Philip

For a year or two I got almost no spam. Then some major inline business sold my business-only e-mail address, and some spambot picked up my newsgroup e-mail address (from this forum, I presume, because it’s all about Viagra and related medical issues).
My hairline started receding really bad about 3 years ago. However, I’ve noticed that some men have the kind of jock good looks that can still attract women even when they have very little hair BUT I’M NOT ONE OF THEM and maybe you aren’t either…I have very pale skin so the pasty White forehead being so prevalent isn’t helping me at all. I’m starting to really believe that women value a man having a deep tan more than ANYTHING else because I’ve seen plenty of balding tanned/athletic guys who still attract hot women….

I suppose this is at least one thing that I have going for me, although there’s no way it can make up for all those years of looking too young and immature for women my age. Actually, I still do, but at least there are now some women out of high school who don’t see me this way, even if they’re not particularly attracted to me for other appearance reasons. The dozen or fewer gray hairs that I have in this one narrow strip is still almost unnoticeable most times and hasn’t changed much since it appeared around Dec. 2003 or Jan. 2004 (google me with the phrase "gray hair" and sort by date if anyone’s interested in the progression of my hair over the past few years) and I have no trace at all that I can tell of any thinning of my hair anywhere on the top of my head, only a bit of receding that took place in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s and which seems to have stabilized since then. It’s nice to see guys around 30 who look older than I do in many respects, and guys my age who would never guess I was their age, but since no one knows how old you are when you’re out in public shopping and running errands, it’s not really been anything that makes up for all those years of being marginalized by both men and women when I was in my 20’s and 30’s and looked like I was in high school or college. Still, there are a few rare times when I feel like a little of "what goes around comes around" is looking my way. I was at a photocopy store the other day (I go about once a week for things I get from the library, since I no longer have access to a math dept. copier) and this thinning gray haired ageing hippy type guy, who’s the store manager and who’s a pretty nice guy by the way (just so no one gets the wrong impression from my physical description of him), made a comment about the Vietnam war and then said "but I guess all that was before you were born". I said not really, seeing as I was born in 1958, and he said something like "Are you shi$$ing me?! There’s no way you’re that old." I happened to have my driver’s license on me (I keep it in my car, but I had it in case I needed to show it when I paid for the copying with a bank debit card), so I got it out and showed him. He’s 52, so he’s still 5 years older than I am, but I think he thought I was only a few years out of college. [Since I'm there often, for one thing the store is only about 200 yards straight-line distance from my apartment, he was pretty familiar with me and we'd done some small talk a few times in the past.
This sounds like me. Altough in my case, there was one single thing I didn’t like about my looks: extreme scrawnyness. It had nothing to do with attractiveness with MOTOS: I would get approached and flirted on by girls sometimes even when I looked like a human stick but my self-esteem was so low it prevented me from taking advantage of these situations. I feel much better with my body now, going to the gym three times a week do pay off in the long run.

>> I haven’t seen you on here for awhile !

There’s a difference between actually being homosexual and finding men visually pleasing. And maybe I like it when Italian dudes pat me on the shoulder and stuff when they say hi. This doesn’t mean I’m in denial and want to cruise my trouser boat through the chocolate channel, ok? It’s just called being a human being. That dream where Bernd and I were cowboys was kind of fun, but the mind plays tricks and it’s all gone when you wake up, you know?

I have the same trouble. For the most part I have girls flirt with me often enough. But occasionally when the clothes come off they’ve said "I didn’t think you were that skinny".
> It’s nice to see guys around 30 who look older than I do in > many respects, and guys my age who would never guess I was > their age, but since no one knows how old you are when you’re > out in public shopping and running errands, it’s not really > been anything that makes up for all those years of being > marginalized by both men and women when I was in my 20’s > and 30’s and looked like I was in high school or college.

I am 22 but look about 14/15… it’s good to know that looking younger will have some advantage in the future. I anticipate not going bald at all… seeing as I have ridiculously thick hair now and both my grandfathers have almost no hair loss.

Response:

> Anybody else ?

My hair is nice and thick. My skin is soft. I’m tall, fit and healthy. I look younger than I am. I think what’s wrong could be that I just don’t look "masculine" enough, whatever that means exactly.

My situation seems totally opposite. I think I’m in great shape and my self esteem feels high. But women don’t approach me or flirt with me. And they don’t seem interested when I approach them.

I don’t know about that Ty. Remember how pickpockets totally destroyed the market for Levis.

Ty Who is mostly just a slightly skewed Donna Reed Ebay exists only because there are those willing to use it. It is nothing more than a provided medium. Are there any stores you do not patronize because you don’t like the neighborhood? Is it the store’s fault that the surrounding area has decayed? Some people don’t use Windows and have gone with Apple computers because of the proliferation of viruses specifically targeting the Windows platform. Those inclined to write viruses are not going to waste their "creative" energy writing viruses for such a small market as the Apple community, consequently they target Windows users. Consequently, Apple’s market share goes up based on this phenomenon alone. My guess there *are* people who shy away from eBay and PayPal because of a lack of trust in the system. This impression (however misguided and uninformed it may be) is enhanced and perpetuated by the massive proliferation of scams, perpetuated by nefarious individuals, using these two mediums as the battleground.

And phishing would sink them just how? It ain’t their security under attack dummy. It is yours. They ain’t robbing the bank, they are picking off the guy standing at the ATM. I am surprised they even give a shit about phishers. If it reaches epidemic proportions, it becomes completely academic as to WHOSE security is being breached -or- WHOSE fault it is. If it is all Ebay-related, it tarnishes the reputation of the company – even if the criticism is unfounded.

But it’s NOT all aimed at eBay. I get more phishers pretending to be banks (which I don’t even do business with) than I do from eBay. You’re probably only seeing the eBay/PayPal phish because you’ve consigned everything else to your junk mail folders.
I don’t know how PayPal and Ebay are surviving with the enormous number of phishing scams going on. Certainly there have to be an incredible number of naive individuals who are not "internet worldly" enough to intelligently identify such scams and are giving away their account numbers and passwords like crazy. For instance, I got one of the better ones today. It said that I had a pending payment (from my PayPal) account for an item I purchased off Ebay. I knew that wasn’t possible. At the bottom of the email it had a link to *click* on to stop the payment if it was incorrect. Naturally I did not. I checked the item # at it was actually a valid Ebay item #! I know that it wouldn’t be that hard for it to pluck out a valid item in order to add credibility to the email, but it *does* show a higher level of sophistication and effort being made to steal people’s account numbers. I’m just wondering how PayPal and Ebay are surviving with this relentless attack on their security. David

What does a company surviving have to do with phishers targeting them? I see many more "Chase Bank" phishes than I see eBay phishes.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’m just wondering how PayPal and Ebay are surviving with this relentless attack on their security.

Bull-pucky. Dozens — hundreds — of financial institutions are the targets of phishers. Only the dim-witted and/or gullible think it means anything other than being a way for thieves to con folks out of information. — Ty Who is mostly just a slightly skewed Donna Reed Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
I don’t know about that Ty. Remember how pickpockets totally destroyed the market for Levis.

Ebay exists only because there are those willing to use it.
