Hi, I don`t know if I am missing something, but why do you want to take a benadryl every day? Some people are sensitive to medication. This seems to be especially true for people with anxiety disorders. I`m no professional, but it sounds like you are anticipating side-effects when taking medication. If my memory is serving me correctly, you have posted about this issue a few times in the past? Have you and your doctor ever explored the reason why you are experiencing PE/ED? Certain meds and physical/emotional disorders can cause or contribute to this problem. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – x-no-archive:yes About two years ago, I had a bad experience after taking viagra. I thought I was going to die. Flush face rapid heartbeat. Face was on fire and red. After that anytime I would take a pill, even a baby asprin, my heart would start beating fast and I would not feel right. It has gootn better since then but once in awhile, it seems to come back. I have taken antibiotics usually without problem. However yesterday before a 30 minute run I took one benadyril. I ran with no problems. As soon as I got back inside, I started not feeling "quite right". Not as bad as last year but it seems my body is hyper sensitive and if I take something that causes changes, this happens. How can I combat this? The thing is, I want to try some more errectile aids but am afraid I will freak out after taking them. Actually mainly more for the treatment of PE than ED but that is another story. I would like to do this myself without the aid of a pshyciatrist as money is tight. What if I took a benedril every day for awhile? They make me extremly dizzy though. Hi Stryped.  This is my amateur diagnosis :-) You took the Viagra two years ago.  It caused some minor and harmless changes in your body (as many meds do). For whatever reason this gave you a fright.  The fright caused you to have a bad panic attack.  Rapid heartbeat and flushed face are classic panic symptoms – the viagra could have made these feel a bit worse though. Now you associate pills with that fear in your mind and every time you take any pill you start to panic.  You have developed a good old traditional phobia! :-) I would recommend seeing a therapist if you can, but if you can’t then I like your idea to desensitise yourself by taking a harmless pill every day for a while.  Maybe an aspirin once a day for a couple of weeks or something?  Once you teach yourself that pills are not harmful again the fear will subside and the panic symptoms will stop. In the meantime, don’t forget that panic symptoms (racing heart flushes, palpitations etc) are totally safe and harmless.  They are just a natural function of the body when it is afraid.  They feel nasty but no one EVER died from them – not ever! — _TJ_ <TJ_IREL at YAHOO dot IE — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm
