Well, the FTC has been going on of late about their desire to bust internet swindlers, so if you think that this is not legit, and it certainly sounds like a scam to me, send it along to them with the complete set of threatening emails.
Yes, I’ve done that, Meanwhile they’ve changed their spots. A new spam offensive using a Geocitie web site is from the same peoeple. So here’s what I’ve posted in dozens of NGs where they have also statred coming after me with fake postings that quesion my sexual preferences. start . . . Apparently he found an opening just big enough for him to slither into. God knew what he was doing when he gave some creatures a generous coat of slime. This appears to be the same party or parties who has been using Travel Bargains USA and Travel Deals and Ticketman and Don Stacy until those names got too hot to use. Their response to public exposure was to send scabrous and vituperative email and NG postings, complete with threats. That has all been reported to the proper authorities. Meanwhile, it’s my opinion the current geocities poster is the same slug with a fresh coat of slime. It also appears that ticketman used a phony Hotmail account to plaster newsgroups with announcements regarding my sexual preferences. I have polled as many as I could find of the women I have been privileged to love and the regrettably smaller but welcome number who have loved me in return during my 68 years and eleven months. They are in unanimous agreement that the phony posting by ticketman should remain online so they can enjoy a good laugh. One woman who declined intimacy in the past has now requested that I help her correct that mistake while we have, as she said, "world enough and time." As soon as I can remember what it is I’m supposed to do, I’m gonna refill my Viagra prescription and take up on the offer. So, I thank you ticketman. A geezer needs all the help he can get. The imediate reaction has been a continuing series of vituperative NG posting and private emails from someone who calls himself "ticketman" (another anonymous email service) containing threats of what he calls "hurt". He claims to be able to block NG postings (hasn’t happened yet), monitor keystrokes and in general threatens havoc, doom and destruction. He cites unspecified groups as part of the threat. He’s still raving and getting more scatalogical with each posting. Meanwhile, Don Stacy has gotten into the act but not in the NGs. Only in private email. He posts in full caps, STOP COMMENTING ABOUT MY BUSINESS. He too threatens hurt. Also threatens lawsuits for defamation (on the grounds that posting his domain name registration is defamatory??). Claims that requests for more information are fraudulent acts of people "posing as customers" and threatens to sue for that question-asking as well. His recent emails show CCs to his "legal department". His messages also include such strange statements as he doesn’t place every Internet ad. In one sentence he refers to "associates" who have been defamed and almost in the same breath distances himself from any asociates who may be doing anything illegal. So far he has not been specific about what defamation might have been commited despite my offer to make a public apology for anything defamatory or untrue that I have said. He just ignores that while repeating his threats. So I figure, the louder Mr. Ticketman and Don Stacy (who may actually be the same person – neither has admitted or denied that when that issue is raised) is screaming, the more curious I become about what really has them so upset. What is it they don’t want known that hasn’t yet been discovered? And, of course, the more they (he?) threatens, the more rocks I’m going to overturn to see what slithers away in the light. Does anyone here know anyone who has been had dealings with these people using addresses in towns such as Lampeter, PA, Lakewood, NJ, etc. under the name Travel Bargains USA or Don Stacy or Ticketman? If they get their hair up, they can get through the Yahoo and Hotmail screens pretty quickly and legitimately. My guess is that both "ticketman" and Don will be a whole lot more polite to them if they ask questions.
